Celebrating a quickly approaching third decade of open adoption, the IAC continues to proudly provide the media with as much news as possible on the wonders of open adoption.

2010 Media Highlights Include:

1. Austin based radio station interviews Executive Director Ann Wrixon on Gay and Lesbian Adoption.
2. Public Service Announcement for Univision Radio

2009 Media Highlights Include:

1. Get the Scoop on Adoption Diaries. Stay updated on air times, read blogs, reviews & much more.
2. CNN covers September 2009 release of Adoption Diaries, the reality series on WE tv which features IAC staff and clients. Take a sneak peek of the show by hearing explanation from Jennifer Bliss PsyD, MSW, LCSW and interviews with some of the shows "actors."
3. Women's Entertainment Television (WE tv) partners with IAC to film a reality series on open adoption. The series follows Los Angeles Co-Branch Director and Open Adoption Counselor Jennifer Bliss PsyD, MSW, LCSW, as she works with birth and adoptive families to create successful open adoptions.
4. IAC Counselor Sarah Musich will be featured on Oxygen Network's reality TV show, Tori and Dean. Sarah walks Tori Spelling's friends Bill and Scout through the adoption process in their first meeting.
5. IAC Letter Featured in USA TODAY - June 2009 Executive Director Ann Wrixon comments on the growing national awareness of open adoption practices.

2008 Media Highlights Include:

1. "When Adoptees Know Their Biological Mother" - NPR (National Public Radio) references the findings of a study published by the Journal of Family Psychology.
2. A Univision Spanish Morning Talk Show interview with IAC Executive Director Ann Wrixon
3. Monthly published articles in Adoptive Families Magazine, written by Kathleen Silber, MSW, ACSW, IAC's Associate Executive Director
4. IAC joined the fun once again at the San Francisco's LGBT Pride Parade. The IAC was featured in it's own fantastic float and also set up an information booth with the participation of an exceptionally supportive group of wonderful IAC clients.
   

2007 Media Highlights Include:

1. Article announcing the partnership between Planned Parenthood of Indiana and the IAC, which will appear in the Fall 2007 issue of the Planned Parenthood publication, Access.
2. Press releases of the advisory list, "10 Things You Didn't Know About Adoption."
3. Appearance as an "expert source" in national forums such as Us Magazine, Adoptive Families Magazine, The Los Angeles Times, Webradio.com, and later this year, the Los Angeles-based (KCED TV) show, "A Place of Our Own/Los Ninos en Su Casa."
4. In June 2007, IAC participated in San Francisco's world famous Lesbian/Gay/Bisexual/Transgender Pride Parade and highlighted 25 years of "Open & Out" adoptions.
   

The presence of the IAC in the local and national media guarantees a continued positive and healthy representation of open adoption.
