Ginger and Luis

Hi! We are Luis and Ginger from Raleigh, NC and we are so excited you're reading our letter. We know you may have a lot to think about and we are here to support you if you need us. We are committed to welcoming you into our lives in whatever way makes you feel most comfortable. We invite you to learn about us and to contact us so we can learn about you and your dreams for your child. We hope to hear from you soon!

We met over 14 years ago while studying forestry at North Carolina State University. We have been married for almost ten wonderful years! We enjoy spending time together and can’t wait to experience the wonders of nature with our child! Luis loves his data analysis job because he gets to play with cool mapping software to make neat maps. Ginger decided to go back to school and is really enjoying studying tourism – she has even gotten to travel to cool places like Australia and Germany! Our lives are open and flexible so we can create a loving home for our child.

We are very close to our families and love to spend time with them. We already share a special connection with adoption, as Luis’ family near Washington, DC includes one adopted child. Cousins Joaquín, Fernanda, and Luciana are looking forward to fun visits with their new cousin to go ice-skating at the National Mall or even to an exciting children’s museum to explore together! Luis’ parents both live in Lima, Peru and we will be able to visit the abuelitos, or grandparents in Spanish, often.

Ginger’s sister lives in Atlanta and studies Egyptian history and art. Aunt Jenny will love teaching our child all about pharaohs, pyramids and even mummies! Ginger’s dad lives in Alabama and will be so excited to see his grandchild playing on the farm. Ginger’s mother lives across the street from us in Raleigh and can’t wait to read a story to her new grandchild!

We live in a warm, sunny home with a large yard in Raleigh, the capital of North Carolina. We enjoy planting flowers and playing with our dogs in the back yard. We can't wait for a little one to join in the fun! Our neighborhood is very diverse, safe, and filled with friendly neighbors. Outside children's laughter fills the streets, so we know our child will be sure to have plenty of playmates nearby. We are very social and love to get together often with our friends and neighbors to share good food and each other's company. This means our child will have a very large family and plenty of support from many of our friends.

We can't wait to take our child to the Meet the Animals Program at the nearby museum and see him or her squeal with delight when petting a fluffy baby guinea pig! It will also be great to take afternoon walks with our whole family and the dogs to the park nearby. We can already imagine our child playing on the swings and making friends. Daddy is ready to install a new swing set in the back yard!

We are Pierre and Nuxie and we can’t wait to get a little brother or sister to play with us! We love kids and have so much fun when our friends’ children come over to play! We’re good dogs and have fun playing in the backyard, taking walks, and sleeping as much as possible. Mommy and Daddy are the best parents ever and we think you’ll agree. They feed us well, keep us healthy, take us for walks, and even dress us up in Auburn t-shirts during football season. We’re ready for a child to come and join in the fun!
Ginger is the most outgoing and friendly person I've ever met, which is the main reason I love her so much. I would love to see Ginger and our child walking hand in hand having fun searching for turtles in a creek at grandpa’s house! After turtle-hunting, I know I will be able to find them watching a football game on TV cheering on her favorite team, the Auburn Tigers! Ginger is a Returned Peace Corps Volunteer and has a special place in her heart for Guatemala, where she served. She loves life and will make every day a fun adventure for our child!
Luis is honestly the nicest, most respectful person I have ever met. He has been practicing martial arts for a long time and I definitely think that helps him be so centered and mindful. Luis loves dogs as much as I do and that’s one of the reasons I fell in love with him. He also loves soccer and can’t wait to pass on the goal-keeping secrets of his family’s three generations of goalies! I can vividly imagine him teaching our child martial arts and soccer, yelling “Gooooollll” at our child’s first score! Luis will be a great dad because I know, without a doubt, that he will be so devoted to our child.
