From 2006-2008 the Independent Adoption Center:

  1. Placed 535 newborns in adoptive homes, an average of 178 placement per year
  2. Matched 688 birth and adoptive families, an average of 220 matches per year
  3. Was contacted by 3,103 pregnant women, an average of 1034 contacts per year


The Average Wait Time


The average wait time from when a prospective adoptive family completes all of their pre-adoption paperwork and a child is placed in their home is from 6 months to 18 months.
